Events – Gatherings that are taking place around the World – Europe

A preparatory meeting for the lay congress Sept 24 -26 in Iława, Poland.

A preparatory meeting for the lay congress was held on September 24-26th in Iława, Poland. The gathering was attended by the representatives of the parish and Oblate works. We explored the elements of the Oblate charism, reflected on it and shared in groups the ideas how they put them into practice in their lay lives. We had an opportunity to go to the Marian Sanctuary in Gietrzwałd to entrust our affairs to Mary Inmaculate. Gietrzwałd is said to be Polish Lourdes and became famous thanks to the Apparitions of the Mother of God to two little girls. The meeting would not have been as satisfactory without the presence of two special guests: father Krzysztof Trociński OMI, who shared his experience of working with lay associates people in Cameroon and father Tadeusz Rzekiecki OMI, who talked about working with prisoners. Although the participants spent a good deal of time planning the congress, they also managed to relax by a nearby, beautiful lake. The next meeting is planned to be held in Kokotek, Poland in spring 2022.

Poland 21-23 May 2021

Gathering in Siedlce
On May 21-23, a preparatory meeting for the lay congress was held in Siedlce in Poland. For the first time, the meeting was held live, the previous meetings were held on-line. It was attended by representatives of the parish and Oblate works. It was a time of getting to know each other, seeing where we are today as a Polish province, what Oblate associations for the laity exist in our country. It was also a time of prayer and a better understanding of the charism of St. Eugene de Mazenod. We are planning the next meeting in September in Iława.
